AM/FM Antenna John Jones 06-06-2006
I've a friend who has a Phillips HTIB in his basement. Single-story
ranch home, wood frame, with concrete basement. He never hooked an
antenna up for FM stations (the unit has a "loop" AM antenna which
connects to the unit with a proprietary connector). I tried an
unpowered Terk antenna a few days ago, and it wouldn't find any
stations.

Would a powered antenna make any difference? Or are we going to be
forced to look at either an antenna on the first floor, with a lead to
the basement, or something on the outside of the house? He has never
had a rooftop TV antenna, so I cannot use it as a radio antenna.
