In our ongoing efforts to make eBay as complicated and bloated as
possible, we have added this security precaution to prevent
inappropriate use of our site. From now on, whenever you want to send
a message to a seller or buyer, you will be required to enter a
security code number, which will appear in graphic format beneath your
message. This code will be nearly unreadable, and you will have to do
your best to guess what the code is, and will likely have to enter
this code numerous times until you get it right. We realize that you
had to enter your password to access your account, but since we are
unable to control unauthorized criminals and spammers from stealing
your passwords, we have had to add this really irritating feature to
waste your time, and make your Ebay shopping experience less
enjoyable. This is similar to our ongoing efforts to allow sellers to
post pages and pages of repeated text and images, in order to obscure
the (extremely high) shipping and handling costs for the item.
If the seller responds to you, please be aware that the three or fours
word reply from the seller will be difficult to find inside the
message, after we add a minimum of thirteen long paragraphs of useless
warnings, notices, web links, and other junk, which will flood your
email and insure that it takes you at least one half hour to read our
important messages, before you are finally able to read those 3 words
from the seller.
We at Ebay are constantly looking for more ways to make Ebay load as
slowly as possible on your computer, flood users email boxes, and
overload the internet with useless junk. We always invite our users
to suggest other methods to help us make Ebay more bloated and
complicated to use.
