For enthusiasts like me, who have been to previous shows at the Hilton in
NY, and appreciate video more than audio, this year's HES 2007 was a big
disappointment. Missing from this year's show were all the great displays
from previous years' shows, and big name players like Sony, Toshiba, Samsung
and Pioneer. I was looking forward to big Runco displays with motorized
screens and to see the Kaleidescape system once again. Not this year. This
year the focus was on audio, and even then I do not think I saw B&W's
presence at the show. It was also somewhat chaotic and disorganized, again
unlike previous shows at the Hilton, and somewhat cramped. I hope they
return to the old format next year...
