Getting rid of Ugly winter residues

When temperatures rise, snow and ice disappears, and a building
maintenance person's thoughts turn to...those horrible residue
stains.

Ice Melt products are great for eliminating snow and ice, but...they
often leave behind an ugly trail of corrosion and stains. These
chemicals can also attack your floor finishes, and corrode door pins
and metal thresholds.

Unfortunately, many building maintenance people use the wrong product
to get rid of residue, and create further stains on their floors and
concrete.

Tip #1: Find a high quality residue detergent such as Improved
Chemical's Residue Away, specifically formulated to neutralize and
eliminate all residues left by salts, calcium, and other
films...without harming you concrete or floor finishes.

Tip #2: Residue eliminating detergents are easy to use. For normal
routine, mix 1 part residue eliminating detergent with 40 parts cool
water. For heavier jobs, use less water; 1 part detergent to 30 parts
water.

Tip #3: Apply liberally, using a mop. Allow to soak a few minutes,
then mop off.

Tip #4: Carpet stains. For ice melt and rock salt stains in carpets,
use 1 part residue eliminating detergent mixed with 30 parts water in
your carpet extractor or wet vac.

Tip #5:        Smile...if you're getting rid of winter residue, it means
warmer days are just ahead!
