My realtor sister just informed me she has to pay a large sum of money
for the privilege of having her listings shown on realtor.com.
Have you seen their site? What a joke! On e-bay, I can view several
high resolution images of a $2 beanie baby with lots of text about the
item for sale.
Realtor.com, on the other hand, has vague listings with little tiny
thumbnail images.
They should show high quality images of ALL available homes in the MLS
by any number of configurations including zip code and school district.
Purchasers need to see the locations of the available homes relative
to hospitals, parks, serious crimes, etc.
We should have much more robust tools to sort the results by price,
square footage, whatever.
The NAR is so busy trying to hold on to their power and old style
busineess model that they're screwing their own people and the
general public. They better continue greasing the palms of the
politicians because some astute business team from Google Earth or
Yahoo Maps is going to clean their clock.
Instead of all the warm and fuzzy commercials and legislative palm
greasing why not try serving the public by utilizing technology to help
the consumer?
