Well that's the memory foam developing its memory... working as advertised.
I've back problems too and I found it worked well to buy a cheap, stiff
mattress, just a bit too stiff to sleep on by itself, then put on a regular
foam rubber bed pad (the eggshell kind, but with the bumpy side DOWN),
beneath a padded cover. Why pay loads of moolah for foam built into the
mattress when you can put it on yourself for a few bucks. It's easier to
take a stiff bed and soften it yourself, than vice versa.
What is the inner spring like, is it soft too? A board between it and the
mattress may help.
