I have always bonded to acrylic (generic name for plexiglass) with WEST
epoxy, it's worked very well. For a not quite so permanant
installation you can use any of the windshield adhesives, 3m makes
about a dozen.

Yep. Zolatone is good stuff. Use a primer under it - they make their
own, I also like Z-spar P-619 no-sand fiberglass primer. Experiment
on scrap - air pressure and distance from the surface make a big
difference in how it looks. A clear coat over it helps it last, you
can use flattening paste in the clear coat to make it dull instead of
glossy.
