But what about the eight other people who also own that wall?
If you're going to buy in a condo, you need to understand up front
that you have an *undivided* interest in the common areas. It's not
your private property, it's not a single-family home, you're buying
into a contract with all the other unit owners to jointly and
cooperatively manage and maintain the common areas.
If you claim the right to ignore the rules, why should anyone else
follow them? So what if the guy on the top floor is not supposed to
be letting his bathtub overflow through your ceiling, it's his tub
and his water, right?
If you do not want to cooperate with co-owners, abide by their
property rights, and respect the rule of law, then you probably
shouldn't buy a condo.
