Spot cleaning is just cleaning the surface. Often, a carpet stain
will return by wicking up from underneath or from the carpet padding.
For that, you may need to slide a thick sheet of plastic underneath
and use a hot solution of OxiClean and water. A carpet cleaner or wet
shop vac will help pull the solution through the carpet/pad. Make
sure you thoroughly test your carpet for colorfastness before using
OxiClean. Avoid scrubbing or rubbing the carpet.
