I've a full finished basement with a seperate outside entrance here on Long
Island, NY. The
basement is 1000 sq/ft. I can't list it as living space, along with the garage.
Even though there
is a bathroom and bedroom down there, I can't list my 3BR ranch as having 2
bathrooms and 4
bedrooms.
You arent screwed. The worst that can probably happen is that a potential buyer
may make you leave
money in escrow until the CO is granted, or just subtract a few thousand bucks
off the final sale so
he can pay the fee to get the C of O.
