Home Depot sells a big orange book called something like "Home Repair 1-2-3"
which gives step by step instructions for most basic home repairs and home
improvements, with good illustrations, materials lists and instructions. We
were given this book as a housewarming present and have found it valuable on
numerous occasions. It is part of a whole series of books put out by Home
Depot including ones on how to do tiling, how to do landscaping, outdoor
projects, etc. A worthwhile investment for aobut $20.
