Are you saying the only value a Realtor brings to the table is in being
able to do MLS searches? I feel a Realtor does a lot more than that. I
have a great Realtor, but I also like performing my own searches which
I then send to my Realtor.

If any Realtor feels threatened by the public being able to perform
full property searches, perhaps it's best to look for another
profession. I doubt any good Realtor would feel that way, since there's
no replacement for a trained professional who can lead one through the
process of purchasing a home all the way through closing. Property
searches seem only to be a small part of that process.

On the other hand, the Internet is changing a lot. Used to be the case
that life insurance was an industry where there were a lot of
inefficiencies - where consumers had little access to pricing. With
rate search web sites, life insurance has become more of a commodity
and that's been terrific for the consumer. Perhaps not so great for
insurance agents.

However, I do not see Realtors going the way of term life insurance
agents any time soon.

Best wishes to you.
