Anecdotal evidence says to replace it, too. Several years back, I
replaced the 15+-year-old side-by-side refrigerator in my house when
it was obviously dying, and my electricity bills immediately dropped
by $20/month. I do not think the new one was even an Energy Star
model, but it was the style with the freezer on top, which are
generally cheaper to operate than the side-by-side models.
