If you just trap them, that just means the next one in line will move in.
You need to get your roof, soffits, vents, etc. all fixed so that squirrels
cannot get inside. As part of that fix, you can install a one-way exit so
the current squirrels can exit, but not get back in.

This can be a daunting job -- I gave up and hired a roofing repair company
that specializes in exactly this. Check your yellow pages for one in your
area.
