The refrigerator's icemaker is connected to the water supply with
flexible copper tubing. The guy at the hardware store doesn't
understand why appliance installers still use that stuff. He says it's
often the source of leaks, and should be replaced with either braided
stainless or PVC.

Is it true that copper tubing is a poor choice for this application?
Any recommendations?
