The US Commerce Dept reports today (March 24) that sales of new
single-family homes plunged by 10.5% in February, the largest decline in
nearly 9 years. Median prices also dropped for a 4th straight month.
The drop in new home sales follows news that sales of existing homes
actually rose by 5.2% last month, following 5 straight monthly declines.
Mixed signals ... but, over-all, not a pretty picture. AA Renard
