Recently the remote control on/for our Sampe DVE612 DVD player has
stopped working. It still plays DVDs and CDs fine, but as we cannot
access menus through the remote, we cannot scroll through menus,
activate subtitles etc.
I bought a Philips Universal Remote thinking that it was the Sampo
remote that had stopped working. The Philips claims to work with Sampo
products, but I cannot get it to work the Sampo (it works fine with a
Sony TV and Tivo).
Could the problem perhaps be the actual DVD player and its sensor for
the remote control? Can anyone suggest how I might find out or how
likely it is that this is the problem?
I have done a search on Google to see if there's an issue with Sampo
remotes but nothing comes up. So far the unit has been great and we've
had it for a few years.
