I've a 36 inch Toshiba TV. Here is the problem: ever since about mid
summer we have had problems turning up and down the volume, Turing channels,
and turning the TV off and on with the remote.
Sometimes the remote works and sometimes it does not. But I do not
believe the problem is with the remote control. First, we have changed
batteries and the TV still does not pick up the remote signal. Also, under
the TV I've a DirecTV box. My DirecTivo remote is programmed to turn
channels thru the DirectTV box and also turn the volume up and down thru the
TV. The DirecTivo remote works fine on the DirecTivo box. But half the
time when I try to turn up the volume it does nothing.
Also, I've my DVD player remote programmed to turn channels on the TV.
Again, the DVD player remote works fine on the DVD player but only works
half the time turning up and down the TV.
So, my DVD player remote and DirecTivo remote work fine on the DVD
player and DirecTivo box, but stopped controlling the TV volume. Also, the
regular TV remote does not turn up or down the volume or turn channels on
the TV. So I think the problem is in the TV.
Also, we CAN turn channels, turn up and down the volume, and turn on the
TV by pressing the buttons that are on the TV. It just seems to not be
picking up the remote signals.
Is there anything I can do to fix this? Or am I going to have to put
the TV in the shop?
Any recommendations?
Thanks!
