So the wife complains about the loud sounds coming from the
entertainment center at night, which by the way, is on the other side of
the bedroom wall. Hey, what's a guy gotta do? Have to crank up the
system to get the surround sound, eh? So what if the walls vibrate and
she cannot hear her own TV? Get her headphones or get me headphones,
right? Or, get headphones that we can both use. That's the dilemma:
Should I get phones that will allow me some possible reproduction of
surround sound, or do I get her a set (just stereo) that will allow her
to hear her bedroom TV while I am blasting away? Also, another
consideration is for me to use the headphones at night when she is
sleeping and I am catching some late night TV in bed.

In any event, I am budgeted to under $200 for a set and I need some
advise as to whether or not it is worth debating about just how much SS
one would get from a set such as Sony's MDR-DS3000, or should I give up
on my thoughts of simulated SS and just go for something like the
Sennheiser RS 130 stereo phones? So far, these are the two phone sets
that look most appealing to me. I would very much appreciate hearing what
you guys have to say as simulated SS and if there are any other
headphones in my price range that I should consider.

Thanks,

Adam
