I decided to change my wall switch from a dimmer switch to a regular
single pole switch. When I took off the cover I saw that the existing
dimmer switch had 3 connections - there were 2 black wires and one red
wire. Since the new single pole switch only has 2 connections, I'm
not sure what to do. My guess is to bundle the two black wires
together and connect them to one terminal and the connect the red wire
to the other terminal. But I'm way out of my league here and I have
no idea what I'm doing.

The box has two sets of cables coming it. One cable has red, black
and white wires (plus ground) and the other cable has black, white and
ground wires. The white wires are connected together, as are the
ground wires.

Any help with this GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks,
Steve
