I read how an outside fireplace needs special bricks ("fire bricks") to
build safely but what about the base for laying those bricks? Do they
need a cement layer first (as I have read some place) or is just some
gravel packed down a sufficient base to lay bricks. Any suggestions
would help. Thanks Jim
